Winter Warmings

The Saturday after Thanksgiving my mama, sister, and I went shopping. I went with a set list and armed with coupons. We went to Joann's, where I bought an iron, 2 cones of worsted weight crochet cotton, and a set of knitting looms.  I also bought a coupon calendar that was unplanned.

I was hoping the knitting loom wouldn't bother my arthritis as bad as needle knitting does. So far it has been a success.

I've made four hats--all from stash yarn leftover from other projects.

The red and white was for my sister.

This colorful rainbow one was for my mama.

This camouflage is my husband's hat.

The hot pink is for my daughter.

And in addition to that I've started learning different stitches and I am working on a shawl.

And lest you think I didn't have plans for the cotton yarn, I am on placemat three out of six.

I'm joining in with Ginny over at Small Things for the weekly yarn along.  Please go over and see what everyone else is making.

  1. Wow! Those looms really do work. My mom has arthritis so I worry that someday I will, too. It is great to see such beautiful projects come off a loom!

    1. Thanks! I was surprised at how easy they are to pick up and go with. The different motions seem to help. The looms I bought use bulkier yarn, but I am hoping to invest in some for smaller yarns, too.

  3. I love your hats and great that you have made them from your stash, I must try using a loom the results are lovely and I have arthritis in my thumbs it does hurt when I knit. I would love you to link your hats to my stash buster link party. :)

    1. Thank you. I have a lot of bits and pieces of skeins I need to use up. That is one of my 2016 goals.

Due to a large volume of spamming I’ve had to undo the “anyone” can comment feature. Hoping this lets all of us not have to wade through the hoopla.
