Frugal Happenings Week 2 2018

This week started off with a crazy bang and pretty much kept that pace up all week.

Sunday -- I hung and dried a load of laundry.  I did dry a load of bedding for the guest bed.  We had a clean out refrigerator day.  I also took the time to make waffles for breakfasts for a few days this week.  I inventoried the pantry, but still haven't done the freezer.  I also placed a Sam's Club order for our groceries for the month.

Monday --  I picked up our Sam’s Club order.  I used the slow cooker function on the Instant Pot to cook beef roast with potatoes and peas so that supper would be done when I got home.  I pulled bread from the freezer to toast to go with it instead of making biscuits or cornbread.

Tuesday — I packed my lunch to take for my trip to my aunt’s funeral.  I also packed a bottled soda to make certain I had a boost for the drive back.  I cooked supper before I left so that I would have no excuse to pick up take out.  I put leftovers from supper into the freezer since we still had leftovers from previous meals for lunches.

Wednesday — I washed and hung two loads of laundry.  I worked from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM on school work...stopping only to heat up leftovers for lunch.  (This is part of my ongoing effort to keep my costs down by taking as many hours as I reasonably can this semester.)  I used notebooks I had on hand and used available free study resources.  I used the Instant Pot slow cooker function to cook chicken for soup.

Thursday and Friday — traveling with my husband after mid morning.  I carried fresh fruit, protein shakes, etc. from home.  While staying at a hotel is never inexpensive, we did stay as close to our venue as possible to reduce driving time and costs, and we also opted for the minimally needed amenities.  I washed and dried a load of towels...I’m still working on finding a hanging alternative.  However, the day was rainy so the extra heat was kind of nice.

Saturday — We made waffles — wheat and gluten free — to the upcoming week.  I packed a jar of leftover chicken and rice to take with us to our second place (an overnight stay).

Due to a large volume of spamming I’ve had to undo the “anyone” can comment feature. Hoping this lets all of us not have to wade through the hoopla.
